Hi and happy holidays :)
I have been riding motorcycles for 3 years now. I had a Honda Dio scooter for 2 years, and for the past year I've been riding a 2005 Honda CBR125R, done about 3000km on it. I have started thinking about my next bike; the Versys seems like the perfect candidate and I am very happy to have found this forum. I plan on doing town riding with some short touring (up to 200km), possibly partially on B-roads.
I am a bit worried about how well I will adjust from riding a sporty (albeit not very fast) CBR to the taller, more upright, more touring ride. How different would the handling be? I would love to take a Versys out for a test ride but I don't know anyone who owns one.
I am a relatively new rider but I like to be careful and know what to expect, so if you have any advice for me please let me know :thanx:

:welcome:I own a 2011 Ninja 1000 and a 08 Versys and can tell you at under half the HP of the ninja the versys will hold its own in the handling department. The V is very fluid, flickable and will keep pace with most sports bikes in tight twisty conditions. It is also very forgiving if you under or over shoot corners and you can make easy corrections in my opinion.

:welcome: and you will enjoy the nibble handling of the V compare to the CB125. riding position is more comfortable compare with sport bikes.

:goodluck:

:cheers:Happy New Year 2012.

Welcome. Agreed with the views that the V is a nimble flickable bike that makes a novice rider looks like a Pro in the corners. I rode the 250R Ninja before switching to the V and once on the V, I realized that it is so much easier handling the V eventhough it has more hp.

I AM from Macedonia any which way you define it, including geographically and politically. Go cure your primitive nationalistic frustrations and complexes somewhere else

First, this is not a place for pushing your political agendas, but I will bite and respond; I am reasonable and on-topic but no-one likes to be insulted.

You are extremely ignorant in thinking that the name Macedonia belongs only to Greece. I live in a geographic region that has been called Macedonia for millennia (it is not Skopje btw, it's in the south of my country but that's beyond the point), and you have no right to rename a country just because part of that region is currently under your political control.
Personally, I know that my personal connection to Alexander the Great and Ancient Macedonia is negligible (so is yours btw), and never claim to be a "descendant" of anyone. For God's sake, these things happened 3000 years ago!
I think that both our politicians and yours are at fault for pushing their nationalistic propagandas, in an effort to seduce mentally limited people who are incapable of progress and have to resort to living in the past. We have plenty of those people, people like you, here as well, and as long as such people are the controlling majority the Balkan people will never prosper.
Such people should go back to their imagination and live in the past, cause they damn sure don't contribute much to the present

Political discussions should be left for political forums where people who want to read such things go (before we both get banned from the Versys forums).
But I am happy to discuss and exchange opinions in a civilized manner on anything with anyone, and if you want to we can continue this discussion in private
