Hi all,

Picking up my 2011 Versys 650 today (with only 27000km on the clock). My last "big" bike was a CBR600F in the UK back in 2012. I'm moving up from my current Z300, and before that a little CB300F. Both have been fun, but I am looking forward to the Versys a lot!

I think my Versys 300 X is made in Thailand. There are lots of bikes out there and beautiful women but I've never gone there. A buddy of mine is half Thai though and I've heard the language a lot. Sounds cool I wish I could speak it lol. Wow a 650. I'm jealous. Welcome to the forum and enjoy your Versys. Post some pics.

I envy you. I did the Nan - Phrae - Phayao - loop last Christmas with Big Bike Tours (great outfit btw). The roads up there are amazing. Some incredible cafes too, many cater to motorcyclists. One in particular that I remember hitting on the way to Nan was the Route 1148 Cafe. The views were spectacular - https://goo.gl/maps/MfCFArhYUwG2 . Great chicken wings too.

Sawadeekrap, Jim and congrats on the new bike. Try to get some riding in on the new bike before the rainy season starts.

Yes, I love this part of the world. I was out that way over the Christmas break - and called in at that very cafe. The views are pretty spectacular from there. I am doing lots or riding right now. The Samoeng loop before breakfast on Saturday, and this coming weekend off to Mae Sariang via the long through the hills route! Love it.... :)

A bit off this time off the year as there is no rain around here and we are not that far apart. Rain may be over..Happy riding.
