HELP

I bought an 09 versys last year with 34000 miles on it. After the first few days of riding it shut off on me while driving. The FI light would flash and i would have to turn the key off and back on and then it would start. It did it a couple more times and after letting it sit for a while it ran fine for months. Today I took it to take my motorcycle road course test for my license and it shut down on me on the interstate going 70. I turned the key off and back on and it started and I'd ride about 2 minutes and it would start flashing FI light and then shut off again. I probably did this 25 times getting to and from the test. Does anyone know what it could be and how I could fix it? I don't have much money to take it to a dealership. I put new plugs in it about a week ago and it ran fine for a few days but I didnt drive it for long. It seems that it only shuts off on me after it gets hot. Please help. Thanks-

Welcome to the forum. We'd need more info for this one. Perhaps a video of the bike on startup or, honestly, some other way to know that it is indeed your bike.

Welcome to the forum as well. I agree with AmbientMoto. You say it has setup for a time is the fuel fresh, could also possibly be a clogging fuel filter

One of my very first suggestions is to clean your frame grounds. THE ECU depends on the steel frame for negative polarity power at the frame grounds. next is a question, is it stored outside, in the rain?
Below is how to read any error codes:

Kind of a long shot but you may want to measure the battery voltage when key is off and when engine is running and revving around 3K to 4K RPM. There are some helpful posts on the forum on how to check your battery, like the one referenced below. Good luck.

Seeing how he just recently changed sparkplugs I would check the coils. They might have developed a crack when being handled.

Bad fuel pump or regulator? Partially clogged fuel injectors? Bad fuel?

Gonna have to pull the Fi code, conjecture gets us nowhere.
