Hey...obligatory first (and soon second) posts so that I can start to use the forum. Purchased a *new* 2011 650 V from the dealer here and saved about $2K over retail because it was *older*. 2 kms on the odometer. I didn't think I'd like this bike as much as I do! 3 days later and I'm already at 350kms!

Hello Victoria

I am north of you in funky Cowichan Bay. Did you buy from SG Power?. I tested a 2011 Red V there last summer. I fell for the V 5 minutes into the ride. It was a great price, but the manager was an Ass!, so I went and bought a 2012 from up Island and got treated like royalty from the folks at Spunky's. Love my V. Had to get one after that demo ride. Hope you enjoy it. Not many V's around here it seems, yet every time I stop for coffee my bike catches attention. Cheers and welcome from WaspRider:thumb:

Welcome from Ottawa.

If your shopping for accessories like most new owners I've found Givi stuff is cheapest on Ebay in Canada and www.aviciouscycle.ca is the only Canadian retailer for many Versys accessories like racks and crash bars.

Yep SG, and yep the sales experience was far from impressive. I bought a black 2011 (the faster colour! - haha) and loving it! Most fun bike I've ever owned. I'll keep my eyes out for your red 2012 whenever I'm up island. Cheers!

Thanks for the tips. I used to buy from Twisted Throttle without much hassle although haven't had a lot of luck with SW Motech products (fading colours and rusting out) that I've bought from there. Still researching farkles and sorting out what I need versus just want.
