Just joined and looking to get a new 650LT. Currently riding a FJ09, but sat on a Versys at the dealer today and was very impress with the comfort. Thanks for the add, looking forward to learning about this bike.

Anyone else jump from bigger bikes to the 650?

I added the versys x-300 to accompany my FZ-09.

I moved from a BMW R1200RT... Bought a 650LT in Houston a couple of months ago and just love it. I still have the RT and it is a fine bike but feels like a tank compared to the Versys which is light and nimble and great fun to ride. My only gripe is the seat but I have modified it by removing some of the foam and hope it will be more comfortable - yet to try it as I am in the UK.

Thanks farmerboy. My FJ is fun to ride, but it's lacking long ride comfort for me, most evident in the weather protection sorting out the suspension is tough, especially coming from a 1200GS.

From reading reviews and posts, i don't hear a lot of negatives regarding the suspension of either the 650 or 1000. I hope to get to ride one here real soon.

I'm in SATX also Arion. :)

What I was most surprised about the V650 was how well it redirects in the middle of turns. I've been on some cruiser type bikes that your choices were either hit the gravel patch & hope you don't go down or hit the ditch. The V adds about two more options.

Anyway... Welcome!

You may miss that beautiful triple engine, though.

Thanks, I know right. Not in a hurry, but I think the V will better suite my needs thou.

I secured a test drive for next week.

New Illinois member here!

Just bought a used 2015 LT and live near St. Louis on the Illinois side. If you could recommend any good rides nearby, or any members are from Illinois speak up! Riding the Mississippi river road is pretty nice near Alton IL, road it over the weekend.

Thanks!
Matt

Welcome...from Chicago.
Tough finding hilly twisties around here.
End up heading west to Galena and ride along "The River" or up into WI.
Maybe I need to head south to see what the world is like down your way.
Happy Trails
