Hello all. I just bought my first motorcycle, a 2019 Kawasaki Versys X-300 ABS, two weeks ago. I've been struggling to find a lot of resources with information in regards to our specific bike, so I'm happy to have found this forum!
Not a lot to say about my bike since I haven't made any modifications to it yet.
About my gear - I have an HJC CL-17 helmet, Fly Racing Flux Air Mesh jacket, Bull-it Light Fury pants, Bilt gloves (nothing fancy), and Bilt Dexter shoes. Soon I'll be looking for cold weather gear, and some boots because I'm really not a huge fan of the Bilt shoes (they were cheap though, so I didn't feel too bad about having them as 'starter shoes'... just gave me an idea of what I'd like for the long haul!) To top all of that off and to make myself look extra cool, I also throw on my $6 hi-vis vest that I bought from Harbor Freight.
Thanks for having me!

Hey welcome. I have a 2017 Versys-X 300 with about 3,000 miles on it. I use it to commute and for pleasure. I have a pair of Bilt boots and even though they were cheap on sale, they've lasted. Although next time I'll go with another brand. I use an Alpine Stars textIle jacket, sometimes Force Riders pants or Scorpion Cordova jeans (ugly but they have Kevlar the full length of the pants inside) and a Shoei Neotec modular helmet. I ride my X 300 around the Bronx mostly. Cold weather gear - Gerbing heated gloves and an insulation jacket / liner and long John's - good enough.

I've added a T-Rex skid plate, muffler slider, and their crash bars because T-Rex uses thick plastic pucks on the sides of the bars - haven't seen anyone else use this.

I added the 12v socket using a Bike Master dual USB socket and a stock relay.

I'm looking to make the seat more comfortable but would have to send it out so maybe when it's winter I'll send the seat out and use the Burgman scooter which I use more during the winter as it's already got about 20k on it.

Often enough my wife rides with me - only when not to come up with some wussy excuse not to ride.

Unfortunately there are a lot of people in this world who look at the water and never go in.

Say, how's riding in Idaho? I've never been out there. Closest was South Dakota for a wedding.

By the way I've learned a lot on this forum and the guys are cool and respectful. I also plan on getting a Versys 650. Any year between 2012-on.
