My girlfriend just got a 2013 Versys 650 with a little less than 4,000 miles. It's white with Givi MonoKey Racks and Barkbusters handguards. Recent upgrades: Puig engine guards, PowerBronze taller windscreen, Cyclops 4000 Lumen LED high beam light, and a Ram 1" ball mount. I did most of the mounting and installing. She does the riding. I'm usually riding in front of her on my white Triumph Tiger 800 XC.

Hello again from Framingham - Cyclops H7 LED Bulb

FYI For anyone installing LED headlight bulbs in the 2013 Versys (and similar). I initially installed the Cyclops 4000 lumen H7 bulb in the low beam position. I was unable to aim the light low enough not to blind oncoming traffic. The reflector housing ran out of thread for the vertical adjustment screw and it was still too high.

I had to remove the LED bulb and put it in the high beam position. There it works fine. You can leave the high beam on for daytime visibility and just use it for high beam at night when there's no oncoming traffic.

That is the exact bike that I have, sounds like a smart woman. How late in the season does she ride? I have still been riding to work almost every day and live in upstate NY. I have been trying to decide if I should go with heated grips or hand guards first.

We invested in heated gloves (with dual controllers for potential future use) so we ride whenever it's warm enough. Not really below 40 degrees though. I'd suggest heat before hand guards to keep warm.

:welcome: aboard to your girlfriend!

I would do the hand guards first, as the plastic piece will shield your fingers, keeping them warmer, PLUS reduce damage IF it falls over....

Please do a search for cyclops LED, plenty of information on install

BTW... you have installed it incorrectly if you have to adjust the beam soooo much.
Make that you seat the LED H& adapter correctly in the H7 clamp area (you have to do some magic tricks with the clasp or make a new one to make it work). Bulbs have a tendency to not sit correctly and then the filament of LEDs are out of position.

Thanks

Thank you for the replies Fasteddie and Interactive! I am leaning towards the guards first for protection from the cold wind and rain. Who knows, maybe Santa will bring me both.:D
