I use ROX 2" Risers on both my V650s, as w/ ROX you can change the orientation, closer or farther as necessary, while the ones you showed can ONLY come towards you as they rise.

regarding ROX: i have heard and read varying opinions about needing to make cable/control modifications when installing these. does anyone have knowledge of that for 2017/2018 1000LT?

Can't say for the 1000LT, but NO ISSUES on the V650 w/ the 2" ROX.

... my handle bar keeps on slipping so I had to put a rubber for it to hold....

THAT sounds a little 'dodgy' to me. I use ROX RISERS on all three of my V650s, and IF they "slipped" - that, TO ME, is unacceptably DANGEROUS.
