Hi all,
Finally got back on the road, now that that state (TX) is sorta opened and the Tour is back on schedule.

This thread is where I'll post the pics for the Tour.

This weekend, I rode up to Mineral Wells (stop #49) to see the Baker Hotel. On the way I stopped in front of the state's largest Rocking Chair (stop #41) in Lipan.

Here is the Baker Hotel. Check out the youtube video on the inside. (

Ok, So I hate that the pics don't fill the whole screen, so maybe this will be a better effort.

I don't have any landscape photos of the rocking chair, mainly because it doesn't make sense. Very tall and narrow.

Finally had a chance to curate this last trip. I've visited 3 stops (25, 33, 45) on the Tour
First stop was in New London, where the natural gas explosion killed half of the students in the school and caused Texas to insert the "stink" into the gas.

Rode down the highway for about 45 minutes to the old train depot in Nacogdoches

Then had a stunning ride through the Davy Crocket National Forest. It is named after the most famous man killed at the Alamo.

Also quoted as saying... "You may all go to hell, and I will go to Texas."

Texas Courthouses - Leon and Houston

While I know that this isn't part of the official tour, I've been stopping in front of the County courthouses with the bike and taking a quick picture. So far I'm over 20 out of the 254 or so counties.

Here are two from this last trip, Leon and Houston.

Btw, the Houston county courthouse is in Crockett which is named after Davy Crockett.

The counties here in Texas can be confusing. Houston, TX is not in Houston County, and Austin, TX is not in Austin County. I've never understood that.

I totally agree, and since there are so many of them I'll probably never visit them all.
