Hi out there. I have an orange 07 and my wife is considering selling her sportster and joining me with an 08. She is 5'6" with a 32 inseam but is on the tips of her feet on my bike. I want to know if the seat is comfortable and if it lowers the bike enough for a person of her height to have her feet flat or nearly flat on the ground.

Any info would be appreciated.

Others I have read who got the gel seat were very happy with it. It is comfortable and lowered the seat about 2 inches. I just think the price is high but such is life these days.

I have a 29" inseam and after riding the Versys for about a week found it easy to handle by just using the balls of my feet.

If I were you I would have the seat reworked (Diamond will do a great job) then I would buy the lowering kit form Speedy. At 5ft 6in. This will give her about 3 inches with the seat and the kit and be very comfortable. My seat was widened 1 in, lowered 1in and NASA foam installed. I can actually move rearward a couple of inches and have no pressure on the groin area.

Diamond is located in Florida. I took pictures of me from all angles sitting on the bike. I called and talked to the owner after e-mailing the pictures telling him exactly what I wanted. I really enjoy my seat now and with the NASA foam it is super comfortable. 100 miles between stops is no problem. The stock seat was good for about 30 miles and I was sore and numb.
Mark also did my Goldwing seat, that is what they are famous for. Send me you e-mail address and I will send you pictures. I don't know how to post a pic on the site.

My wife with a 31" inseam rides the OEM gel seat.
She likes the seat. However she is on her tip toes (okay maybe balls of her feet, but definitely not heels down)

I'm not sure how much seat reworking can be done, there is basically no foam on the pan of the OEM gel seat now (that's how they lowered it 2").

If you are near central NC, you are welcome to check it out.
