How do I get the damn gear shift lever off my versys? I can't figure out how to remove the foot peg support that is holding it in place. Thanks.

To remove the shifter's main pivot, you must loosen and remove the large Allen head bolt behind which secures the footpeg mount/shifter pivot to the chassis... Yes, it is a PIA. You can then clean and grease up the main pivot upon reassembly.

Major pain. Purchased new lever for nearly $100 after a lay down. After about an hour of attempts and three bleeding knuckles, gave up and bent the old one back into shape.

Where is the fing allen bolt? is it thru the hole where the foot peg mount sits? I can't figure that part out. Newbie on this, can handle oil changes.

That's what they call it for the other side too... From the manual:

Brake Pedal Removal
•Remove:
Right Rear Frame Cover (see Rear Frame Cover Removal in the Frame chapter)
