Sorry; a non mechanical newbie here. How do I access the front sprocket just to look at its condition? Does that circular piece with holes around the edge come off some way? Or does the whole plastic piece have to be removed? Thanks for any help.

Chuck - Charlie's video shows it well.

How many miles on your V? IF it's over 18K miles, you should have a NEW sprocket there 'cause it'll be ready to be changed (you'll have 'hooked' teeth for sure).
