2015 leftover, got what I think was a great deal, and love it! I haven't gotten to really wring it out yet, as I'm trying to break it in easy, but can already tell that this bike was worth the wait.
I worked at a motorcycle shop when this model first came out (07 or 08). The first gen definitely had a look that has to grow on you, but even then I knew I wanted one. I had just bought a DRZ400, however, so the Versys couldn't come home with me. That same bright red Versys was still on the sales floor when I left the business a year or so later.
Fast forward 9 years, including a seven year hiatus from motorcycling, and I'd finally got an '86 Yamaha that had been in my garage running, intending to sell it. I had to put some miles on it, to make sure it wasn't going to blow up. Those miles rekindled the need to ride. After some discussion with the wife, I decided to look at new bikes (the Yamaha was not kind to my bad knee at all), but I already knew where I was headed...V-E-R-S-Y-S.
