Recently repaired my cracked and rashed fairing. Plastex to fix cracks, missing pieces and broken tabs. Bondo Glaze filler to even out remaining irregularities, 2 coats fiberglass primer, 2 color coats of Kawasaki Passion Red (made up in a spray can by paint store to match supplied Kawasaki color code), 3 clear coats. Note pictures show flat color coat before application of the glossy clear coat. After clear coat there was a near exact match and red became deeper, darker and glossy.

I did it completely with spray cans. You can get a local auto paint store to mix up the color for your bike in a spray can from the Color Rite color code you can find on the web. Cost of custom spray can is $30. I used rubber bumper/fiberglass primer on the advise of paint store as regular primer can apparently cause paint cracking on a flexible fairing. Also one can of clear coat. The one down side to this is the clear coat from a can does not have an added hardener like machine sprayed clear coat, so may react slightly to gas left on the surface and harsh chemicals. Two part top coats are more resistant to chemicals.
