Nuff said?

Figure I will just throw an updated pic here every now and then depending on what I got cooking..

Threw these LSL frame sliders from Rider's Discount on last night. Was like a 45 min job and that included drinking a beer, having a couple jalapeno poppers, and being generally mechanically un-inclined. Not bad if you ask me.

Also got the Targa fender eliminator kit from them.. Between today (rainy) and tomorrow (half day work) I hope to get that rockin and rolling. (Will likely require more than one beer. Maybe more than 2? )

But as for the rest, thing is basically totally stock aside from the SW Motech rack and Givi trunk which accompanied the bike when I bought it.

With a name like moneybags you should be paying people farkle up your versys, so you can watch and drink even more beer.

Seriously, the bike looks good. How far do the sliders stick out? Far enough to use them as highway pegs?

I got those LSL fitted too right from 0km (about 1 month ago), good thing is they can double as front foot pegs for resting your feet at long highway runs lolol

Ha, I am like 5'8 (on a good day) and with a low-30's inseam even I think that calling them useful as highway pegs is a stretch.. Not to say it wouldn't be another position just to get the blood flowin, but beyond that.. Nope.

Funny about the screen name.. Like 6 years ago I joined a buddy's mountain biking forum that I figured would be around for like a week tops so I decided on this totally obnoxious name. Well the forum is still going strong and I have adopted the moneybags moniker for all my internet communities! :type: Besides the fact I do not really have moneybags laying around the house :( , it is good stuff for me to learn to do, and it's even been a little fun..

Cheers-

Some pretty sharp eyes out there in TV land.. :thumb: The tires (tyres?) are the MT 60 for sure. I don't have much to compare them to, but I can say they seem to build up a nice bit of warmth, without overdoing it, and get nice and sticky. I have read they tend to be softer and hence wear out quicker than a comparable 100% street tire.. Well, whatever all that means-- Im happy with them.

So the bike got some mod work tonight. Given my uncannny ability to make things more complicated than they really should be, and my desire to NOT drill a couple holes in a perfectly good motorcycle, I managed to cobble together this fender chop..

Long story short as mentioned above I got the Targa kit, and just used some bits out of it, cut the stock plastic fender way back with a pair of tin snips, and pieced everything together as best I could.

It IS lacking a dedicated plate light, but until five-oh has something to say about it I will likely leave it as is. Or until we have enough crappy days in a row that I won't feel bad if the bike is down for a short time for repairs. (But I am not jeapordizing this weekend!)

And Bro. Cannon, you can see here how far the sliders stick out a little better?

Enjoy and have a great night all,
E$

Ready for spring! And days like today in CT make me happy..

Got my Motowerk lowering kit on. Dropped the front forks to match. Flatfoot bolted on. New windscreen on (received LATE last season and haven't ridden with it yet!).

Think I might skip eating at lunch time and make it a riding adventure instead!

Hope everyone has a fun and safe season!

Couldn't let the money burn a hole in my pocket any longer and just ordered up an Arrow Dark for this baby.

Can't wait.

Got the new pipe on just now, sounds really nice. Throaty idle, revs nice and sharpens the tone a bit. Super neato.

As I read not much in the 'instructions' department going on here, but managed none-the-less. Which is pretty inspiring to other non-mechanically inclined people I hope!

Anyway, might try for some more photos in the day-time..

Sweet!

What model of Aprilia did you get the mirrors off of? My buddy rides a Shiver and I really like the look of them.

Mirrors are off a Tuono I think, all the info is summarized nicely in the first post of the below thread..

http://www.kawasakiversys.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14976

Got one pic but not much to show that hasn't been shown..

Since IDPA was cancelled tonight (rain for like 6 days in a row today?) was able to run to the shop and pick them up and they went on REAL easy. And you don't need to remove the windscreen (if you have a bigger one) to get them on n off cause of the way they mount up.

Hope to ride this weekend!

Looks good. I'm not sure how much the 2010 Versys mirrors are, but seem to be more expensive when I look up the part # on hlsm.com

Btw, what topcase do you have?

Not sure which topcase it is frankly, was on the bike when I bought it. Givi something or other.. Better pics of it above (like 3/17 post?)

Are the 2010 mirrors better than the earlier ones? That whole system was a mess and it's no fun to be looking in a mirror for a lane change and seeing only my own stupid face. Glad I got them squared away. The Aprilia ones mount a stud into the mirror extender arm, then the cinch-nut goes on and mirror stem drops in. So you can tighten the stud, THEN set the mirror position and tighten the cinch nut down. MUCH better system IMO.

Yet ANOTHER rainy day here in CT.. Planning a Sun morning ride with some e-friends off a local m/c forum in case anyone is in the neighborhood!
