Bought Versys 300 on a whim, after a few miles realized 2 issues:
Uncomfortable seat- Ordered a comfort seat from Kawa. hoping it will solve the problem.
Second, bigger issue:
Very short gearing for city riding (99.9% of my riding).
I understand that changing chain sprockets is problematic.
What do I do to solve this issue?
Do any of you have tips, how many teeth should I opt for, front and rear?
How do I solve the ECU issue?
Is the speedometer accurate after alterations? (very important for OZ).
If I had my buying decision over again I would probably wait for the new Enfield 400 or BMW 300, or even longer for the anticipated Versys 400.
But this is what happens when you are too lazy to wait for a test ride.
Overall, I really like the light weight, the very light clutch action, and generally the nimbleness of this bike
The best thing though, its a twin! doesn't vibrate like a single!

When I test-rode a 300 I knew that it had to be 'revved' but never seemed geared too low for me. It makes its power UP the 'rev-range'.

I installed a 15t CS around 2000 miles and it is a huge improvement to me. I am turning an actual 60mph on my gps at 7000rpm now. First gear is still useful and no faults are indicated with the gearing change.

Yes I did have the S.I problem and check eng. light. I have learned to live with it. I find that after I
clear the CEL if I let the bike idle for a minute it will work most times.
