Was just telling my girlfriend the night before last that people were driving much better and no one has tried to kill me lately. Then i just went 2 miles each way to and from lunch yesterday and all the butt-holes seem to come out :grin2::grin2:...

I'm glad lane splitting is not legal where I'm at. Seeing videos of people lane splitting scares the crap out of me. And I guess I really don't understand the concept of it in most situations. I can see in heavy rush hour traffic. But if it's only saving you a few seconds between lights, I don't get it. I'm not criticizing and I know in states were its legal, a lot of people do it, but it just seems like it would cause some unneeded road rage by the already crappy drivers out there. Just my 2 cents.

Just because you aren't comfortable with it doesn't make it dangerous.

In fact it has been found to be no more dangerous than riding in any other circumstance, when done according to internationally proposed guidelines.

Crappy drivers are exactly WHY filtering should be legal, i'm NOT accepting responsibility for people not competently, safely controlling their vehicles. Throw in baking in the heat for 15... 30.. 45 minutes... To hell with sitting there, at that point I need airflow just to not pass out from heat exhaustion!

There is literally no solid, logical reason to be against filtering, and the sooner people accept that, the sooner North America will be a more desirable place for riders to commute on their bikes as opposed to being another hole in line clogging up our roads.

In a place where filtering is legal, its taught via multiple choice questions on driver exams, and drivers are theoretically taught how it affects traffic congestion, and that its actually a good thing to let bikes through traffic. You don't see road rage being a serious issue in places where it is legal, precisely because of what i've just said.

Dont knock it till you've tried it where the alternative is baking for 30+ mins. I ride in this reality daily in the most congested area of British Columbia, filtering is illegal here, but i'll be damned if i'm taking my chances with the insane amount of people on their phones down here, as well as how poorly thought out our roads are around here.

Sorry, /rant.

Wow, cool down bro. I NEVER said lane splitting should be illegal, nor did I say it was dangerous or that I was against it or that people shouldn't do it. As my post says, it seems like it would scare the crap out of ME. And if you actually read my post, you will see that I did say how I see where it would be nice in heavy traffic (ie baking for 30+ minutes).
