I run the following tire setup and managed to get the mileage listed below...

Front- Pirelli Scorpion Sync (stock size) 11,500 miles
Rear- Metzeler Tourance (150/70 17) 10,230 miles

Not bad numbers really. The tires handle curvy roads great and are capable of taking the Versys into some off road situations that no street bike should have any business in. All around good match really.

A little more info. Im 6' 1", 240 lbs and ride like a loon. Hepco Becker hard bags on the bike. I really think I have found the magic combination of sporty handling, wet weather performance, mileage and dirt road capability. For me at least.

Hope this helps someone looking for tires.

(edit)- The rear is NOT the Tourance EXP, just the regular Tourance. And Im running it one size off since they dont make it in the stock size. Its a taller tire and there is just enough room for the tire by my Leo Vince slip on.

I might go with this setup when the original tires wear out. My worry is that the taller 150/70/17 rear will raise the bike just enough to make the bike too tall.
The rear is raised but its only by a tiny amount, negligible really. Give it shot and I bet you wont be disappointed.
