Its a pain in the butt getting the tank full out here in Cali with the fuel nozzles to keep down the escaping fumes. So i came up with something cheap "Zero Cost" Took a liquid laundry detergent measuring cup and cut out the bottom. So now when i fill up put the cup over the tank access hole and push the nozzle down it pushes the black Gasket on the hose to allow a full fill up. Now i have a keyless gas cap so it works great not sure about the stock caps but it should.

Get the 2011 model

Or you can just purchase a 2011 Versys and it has a handy dandy platform built into the fuel tank to hold the vapor recovery rubber boot up as you fuel. No additional devices necessary.:thumb: Maybe this enhancement is only on the California model of Versys.:goodidea:

For many years we been pushing the vapor recovery boot up slightly with the free hand to allow the gas to be dispensed and the tank to be filled fully. At least with the equipment in Nor Cal. Good free device though.

+ 1 for free and clever. My wife and i call it "shopping at home". It's amazing how many solutions you already have in hand.

Thanks for sharing.

My fuel trick (non Caly) is to always grab a paper towel out of the windshield cleaning station and use it to "escort" the fuel nozzle in and out of the tank. That has saved my tank, from LOTS of drips.
