Has anyone added a sound system to their V1K? I'm thinking external speakers (rather than wired or Bluetooth helmet speakers). AM/FM and SD card. Waterproof of course.

I've been looking at Firehouse Technology (Kickstart - https://www.firehousetechnology.com/store/p11/Kickstart_Motorcycle_Stereo_with_Large_Handle_Bar_Kit_for_Cruisers_Harley_Honda_Kawasaki_and_More.html), Kicker (https://www.kicker.com/kmc2 and https://www.kicker.com/mini-speakers) and Silver (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Motorcycle-Audio-Sound-System-Bluetooth-MP3-FM-Radio-Stereo-Speaker-For-Kawasaki/232034765243?fits=Make:Kawasaki|Model:Versys+650&epid=1879892388&hash=item36065989bb:g:LBAAAOSwdzVXnvJx&vxp=mtr)

Some of these units will obstruct the dashboard and ignition. Any suggestions?

Nothing more annoying than the Hardly Ableson blasting Thorogood at a stop sign....
Just make sure to only wear flip flops and a t shirt with your cut and half helm so you fit in!
Kidding.

But the helm speakers are really good way to go. I like my sena alot. Being able to make and take phone calls is a side benefit.

I thought only Harley riders with hugemongous speakers blared their lack of common sense whilst rolling down the road towards that 90 degree turn that I know is there, but they don't.

(First Responders and I usually wind up fishing a FatBoy out of the ditch at least once a month when the road turns and they don't...)

Does the world want to hear your taste in music as you ride around.
Sorry that is a NO from me.
What an attitude, Gigitt.

I ALWAYS :wink2: watch for a Harley to ride beside, firstly, to enjoy HIS taste in music, but SECONDLY because it has to be SAFER - don't forget that LOUD PIPES SAVE LIVES....

Thanks. my Leo Vince SBK is just loud enough :)

I see ext speakers counter intuitive and noise polluters on a bike in this day and age.
You are ATGATT wearing a full face helmet, probably using ear plugs to reduce wind noise and protect your hearing.
I do and have a Sena 20s Bluetooth system in my helmets for my toons and GPS.

So... If you ride with no hat or with a soup bowl helmet ext speakers might fit your needs to look cool.

but
1) you are on a loud bike
2) there is wind noise
3) you are probably mostly deaf already from 1 and 2, means you have to crank up the volume of ext speakers when riding to hear it.
... Which I don't and probably many others don't want to be blasted with.

Ride more, worry less.
