My brain is having a hard time wrapping around this one. How the hell do you lose a rear sprocket? How the hell does it have enough momentum and mass to eat through a windshield and then imbed itself into the roof of a car?
The sprocket more than likely fell out of the back of a truck that was taking metal to a recycler. It got kicked up by a truck and bounced off another truck into the opposing lane.
The video someone attached of the rod or whatever that almost impaled the videographer was pretty amazing. The truck just ran it over without thought of what would happen.
My BIL had a surfboard come through his windshield. It came off the oncoming car so it was travelling about 55 mph and my BIL was traveling about 55 mph. The point stopped about 6 inches from his face, and the rest of the board snapped off and flew over the car.
Another lesson in leaving ample space when on the road.
