So i currently have a drz 400sm that i am selling and looking into adventurr bike

Right now the fight is between the vstrom650 and the versys 650

I honetly thing the versys looks much better and i prefer the lighter sportier look of it. Im basically looking for a more high speed drz, ill still bring the versys offroad and drop and scratch it try to hooligan it a little and plan on making a streetfighter/ratbike with time

I just found a crazy deal for 20k Miles versys but the guy is already having clutch problems and he claims its just the clutch wire and im checking in here to see what you guys think, its a second gen(2010) and its been "lightly dropped" dont know much after that trying to know if its worth the lower price

:welcome:aboard .

Take a good look and if possible get a test ride on the bike you intend to buy. If it fit you , then go ahead and get it. The versys don't have any clutch problem and it may just be the clutch wire as the owner say's. Best to check it out.:goodluck:

Please post your second post here in this thread you started-Thanks.

It is rare to have a clutch problem on a Versys 650, usually a clutch cable with lack of lube, however if ignored and continued riding with a slipping clutch expect problems then. Do you have a link to the bike, as this sounds familiar.

Also owned a DRZ400S , needed a sixth gear and tired of changing sprockets for highway riding. Also tired of cupping tires, too many 4 wheelers and not enough dual sport riding areas where I live. Sold it in 2007 and no regrets , if your plan is off road, I would suggest the Vstrom , although there re members on here that ride off road with the V .

I bet the clutch is incorrectly adjusted. Try about 1/4" of threads at the lever.
