G'day,

Better make some room in the stable for another Kwakka

It's done. Deposit paid and delivery organized for Friday 16th January. .

2015 Versys 1000 in Candy Burnt Orange

Not new to riding or Kawasaki but this is my first "New" bike since 1998.

I still have the last new one I bought, a VN800 which I have modified ~a bit ;)~. Can't post pics yet but if you imagine old school soft tail chopper you'd be close. Other Kwakas gone but not forgotten include a GT550 and VN1500FI.

The shed also currently has a BMW R1200RT, ex Police, squeezed in there. The Beemer has been my go to bike for the last 2 years. It's an awesome piece of machinery and the most comfortable long distance tourer I have ever ridden, however, life is too short to stagnate so I have been considering something different to play with for a little while.

Was seriously contemplating the Ninja 1000 (Z1000SX) until I spied the new V1K. Don't mind saying the old face Versys' had me covering my eyes.

I'm a short Ar*e so the Versys seat height put me off a bit, until I tried for size, not much different to the Beemer in reach (still on my toes) and much more comfortable for me than the N1K.

Looking forward to picking your collective knowledge base for info and sharing my experiences with the big Ranga .. (non Aussies may need to Google that :))

Cheers
Ian

another "bloodly" Aussie...I assume there are other kinds...I once used the term bloody at my friend's house..his mother was English...I thought she would wash my mouth out with soap...doesn't it mean the same thing?? lol
I worked with an Aussie named Clive..do you know him?? everyone thought his name was Olive..he hated that...He could do all of the Monty Python routine's..if that helps...Pretty sure you couldn't get him on a motorcycle...If you see him..tell him I said "Hi" (that's what we say here state side instead of G'day)...
your 1000cc Versys is a detuned 1000cc Ninja..and as such..should give you many 1000's of trouble free miles...
Welcome to the club

I know it's not many compared to the US but we have around 24 million people here. Unlikely to know Clive / Olive

I know Clive! Just saw him the other day out killing drop-bears while I was herding the kangaroos out of my back yard. Top bloke that one.
