Took a ride on the EX500 today. Went up to Brooksville, had to do a little "Ninja Off-Roading" as I came to a "T" in the road and they had Road Closed signs all up. Absolutely NO prior signs leading up to this, which is ridiculous! A few cars were turning around, proving that no one knew they'd have that section closed off. Well, I decided to weave in between the dump trucks, bull dozers and gravel piles...but I made it! (Would have felt a lot safer on the Versys!)

Coming back towards home I decided to take Old Pasco Road, a 2-lane semi-back road (single lane on each side). Going down there was nobody behind me. As I got closer to the more populated area I look in my mirrors and see this white GMC pickup riding very close to me. He must have pulled out from a side street because I went miles with no one behind me.

I approach a 4-corner red light and stop at the light. I veered off towards the left as I figure, right or wrong, if some **** bird behind me isn't paying attention and catches me in their vision at the last minute they're going to pull hard to the right into the grass as opposed to oncoming traffic.

Well this azzhat pulls right up to where his front bumper is flush with my right knee!!! I turn back, lift up my modular and start yelling, "WTF???". He rolls his window down and can't understand what he's doing wrong! I said, "Dude, this is one-lane. Why ya trying to share the lane with me?". He kept nodding, so I pulled up a little, closer to the car in front of me.

If this azzhat didn't pull right back up along side of me!!! This time I walked my bike back so I was even with his window and told him he was an asshole (among other things). He kept nodding like he was acknowledging what I was saying. But his actions obviously didn't show it! Finally I just told him to get in front of me because I didn't trust him behind me. He simply waved then moved ahead. WTF?!?!

This is the 3rd time in less than 6 months this has happened to me (once on the EX, twice on the Versys). The first two times...cell phones!

The world is full of a**eholes and they are dangerous - so full of their lack of respect for others and the ones who will end up saying "sorry dude, I did not see you."
I do not like people following too close. You are basically putting your safety in the hands of some stranger who may or may not be alert.

There are some total loons on the road these days.

Glad he did not knock you off or run you over.

You need to be very defensive whenever you ride. Too many people loaded with personal problems and they don't seem to concentrate on the road when driving. Hand phone , family problem, work related problems distract drivers attention.

Glad you are safe.
