Turning into my street, hit a rock just wrong with the front tire. Front tried to wash out, then caught again, but not before I bounced off my left foot in an involuntary attempt at not crashing.

WTF? It wasn't even a big rock!

Doesn't take much while you're turning. Thats why i always keep a look out for sand, rocks, leaves, gravel and oil before going into a turn

Oh yeah... I forgot to mention it was after my first doctor visit since May, because I just got insurance again.

And, I learned something today. I learned that simply being on a motorcycle at a stop light will get girls as young as my kids to try to flirt with me.

I don't know how to take that.

Rock on brother...rock on!

Glad you saved it.

It's one thing to throw it away negotiating a fast sweeper, but to dump it out front the house at 5 mph is just... well uncivilized.:wink2:

Well... To be fair, it was more like 18-22 mph.

I mean, it WAS a left turn, after all.

You mean you have problem on left turns....most of us here have problem on right turn..
Being an old flat track racer where you only go fast and turn left, I have to say my riding style tends to be different when turning right. It is even evidenced as to how my front tire wears.

The left side wears symmetrically with that side of the tire maintaining its rounded profile. The right side however, develops a flat area due to me holding a more constant lean angle.

Just as the camera don't lie, so too the tire tells the real story.

Those stock Dunlop tires on the 2015 sure were slippery. My first year with those tires I took some gravel on a twistie and felt the rear slide and instinctilvy put my foot down. Tore off the front half of the sole of my pilot boot,shoo-gooded it back. I went to an Avon Trailrider tire,a good stout 90/10 M&S road tire. Not much good off road but very nice grip on pavement,no noise from them.Noticed a little slower acceleration than the Dunlop right away so I guess theyre grabbing good, safer feeling on corners.

Hope your kids aren't too young! :wink2:

I've noticed the same thing. I had assumed that with the millenial generation being the way they are, girls would no longer be impressed by what a guy rides/drives, but I don't think that has really changed.

I tried to avoid all eye contact.

Seriously, she was very cute, but definitely much closer to my older 2 kids in age than to me.

Plus, I was wearing all my gear, a full face helmet and sunglasses. She'd have been really disappointed if we'd gone off to meet somewhere.

I mean, unless she prefers portly men old enough to be her father.

I had to keep checking to make sure I hadn't been in error about the whole thing. Nope. No one else around. Just weird.

I also play guitar, and have noticed a similar effect while on stage. But the ages are more in line with my own.

Kind of gross, if you think about it. I'm 1000% more attractive with a guitar or a motorcycle. Without, I'm a fat, balding, middle aged nerd.

To bolster your self-esteem, I suggest that you always have a guitar over your shoulder, except for when you are riding your bike. I too have been playing again with some friends, and at 66 it's funny how you still get some goo goo eyes looks from the ladies. Which leads me to a couple of my many musician jokes:

What to you call a house full of guitar players???

P R I S O N

What do you call a guitar player without a girlfriend???

Hmm, I seem to mostly attract attention of boys on my V-650. Usually at the grocery store as I pull into a parking space. Their mom walks by and the kid is looking at the bike. If the kid is little, like under 8, they have wide eyes and don't say much as mom tugs them along. If the kid is middle school age, they usually ask what kind of bike it is, and/or how fast it goes.

Their moms seem less than disinterested.

And on the internet dating sites the % of women is quite high who specifically state in their profiles not to contact them if you have a motorcycle.

My guitars do attract attention, but I pretty much suck at singing so I don't perform publicly very often. Maybe I'm just doing all of this the wrong way?

I actually got flashed by a girl in a convertible this summer in the middle of the Colorado mountains. I'm pretty convinced it was because my buddy was riding a Multistrada, more than my V. :smile2:
