Yesterday I decided to ride to Tucson, then ride up Mt Lemmon. Took me several hours to ride from Florence, then up to the top of the mountain where I sat and ate lunch, then down, stopping often to take some pics. The day, as you will see, was CLEAR, temps getting up to 75F.

Around the half-way mark the terrain changes drastically, turning into some 'hoodoos'

along w/ the nice twisty pavement. Then another view W of different terrain (BIG changes over the 8,900' of Mt Lemmon!)

This was taken of "Thimble Mt', obvious from its shape.

and here's a pic of BIG RED enjoying the weather

and then looking W

Apparently someone EITHER missed the turn, or ran a stolen van off the cliff

and here's a close-up of it.

Then I was heading N to home...!

Good ride, compassing 252 miles over about EIGHT hours!

That’s a great ride and some great views. I did it two years ago. Had a great run up with car drivers pulling to the side when it was safe Giving us a clear road. I also saw that van. Wished I had my Versys for that ride.

I’m coming out to Tucson late March next year to ride. Last time we rode to Nogales, Mt. Kitt and Mt. Lemmon. Do you have any suggestions for other destinations?

I still have quite a few to check off the box.
I live in Goodyear. So much of my travels take me North.
But I agree, great riding here in AZ. That's why I moved from Seattle to Arizona.

Somehow we missed this ride while in Tucson last March. Spent a week or so there visiting fascinating (to us at least) sights - Pima Air & Space, Bioshpere II, Sonora Desert museum, Old Tucson, Franklin Auto Museum, and on and on. Could probably have spent the remainder of my life at the Pima talking with the guides and volunteers. Before heading back to San Antonio, spent a few days in Bisbee - fascinating old mining town, and home to the Shady Dell Vintage Trailer Curt- what a great place to stay.

IF you're back down here again (while I'm still here prior to heading N to BC, early April) give me a call.
