Prime candidate for the annual Darwin Award. It was Einstein, I believe, who said there are limits to intelligence but apparently no limits to stupidity. Then again, perhaps it's a new circumcision procedure. If so, I'll pass thank you.

You sure about that... in the immortal words of Chrissy Amphlet;
"there's a very fine line between pleasure and pain".
even if the kerf of a chainsaw is hardly a fine line.

In case the "Divinyls" are unknown up there:

I beg to differ Kay_B. This is actually the correct method to yank your chain. 😉
Well, of course. Especially if you are looking for a quick way to commit suicide. I don't think anyone will survive if a chainsaw breaks the arteries in the groin.

My apologies, yanking you chain = having a laugh (making a joke). Pretty sure this is just a joke..... or that guy is now a catstrati. See what I did there?

It's just trash! I don't understand what a person should have in his head to hold a chainsaw like this.
Chainsaws have a centrifugal clutch, and typically
start at idle, so the chain receives little or no drive at start up.

And if the chain brake has been applied, the chain is locked stationary.

So what that operator is doing, looks a lot more dangerous than what
it actually is... probably

Having said all that; there are those that have a psychotic need for attention, and are willing to
harm themselves to fulfill that need... So perhaps the chain brake is not activated
and the throttle is locked full open. o_O

Either way, I'd suggest what he/she has in its head, apart from space, is very little.

You know, hoping that the braking mechanism works 100% is a complete idiot. There is a safety technique and any mechanism can fail.

No argument dear.

It seems though, that you are upset by the mans/womans apparent stupidity.
If that is so; my advice is, don't cry, laugh, as it is not you or yours.

Having said that, you keep missing my point that there is a possibility
that the man/woman in the picture has a psychosis ie mentaly ill.
If that is true, he/she may be not be "a complete idiot", but very sick.

Regards,

Alan.
