Hello! I'm Greg from Orlando, FL and I'm excited to be a part of the Versys family! I currently own a 2008 Suzuki B-King which I will never give up, but I've been researching, for a while now on getting the perfect Adventure Bike to start riding out of state and taking very long trips! It was between the Versys and a WeeStrom, but the great deal on this 2015 left over, I just had to take it! Have only put 50 miles on it so far, but enjoying every last one! Will keep you updated on rides, mods and how it is doing in time to come!

Thanks! Greg

Greg, welcome aboard. I also just picked a '15 white LT, used from Champions over in Cocoa.

I live up in Lake county near Mount Dora.

I'm retired so quite available for hooking up for a ride. In case you've never been, decent roads around here with real corners and hills and such. And I know almost all of 'em.

I had a '99 Concours with 234,xxx miles on it, so yeah, long distance riding is cool.

I'm also still active as an assistant area director for the COG(Concours Owners Group) and we have quite a few RTE's and weekend camping things going on it the southeast. Next RTE is Friday the 30th of December in Titusville at Dixie Crossroads seafood place. Come on over. I and possibly a gentleman on a '14 will be there. Along with 30-50 other riders.

Shoot me a PM iff'n ya want. Looking forward to hooking up for...

That's a great deal and probably what I should do instead of getting a new 2017 and try to work the price down some. BTW, what is a B-king?

Where are you? There's a used orange '16 650 LT here at a dealer in Mesa (1,705 miles) for $5,900.

so @ GreggB?

You feel the Versys and V Strom are close enough to being the same bike, spec-wise, that the lower price of this Versys was the deciding factor in your purchase?

I've been on both Versys and V Strom sites and of course most every owner states they chose one over the other and wouldn't have it any other way. As in one is way better than the other. I know that can be quite subjective and owners are going to always side with the brand they purchased. And I totally understand choosing one brand over another when $$ comes into play. Love saving money on any deal.

But you felt comfortable enough of the similarities that just $$ was a reason enough to choose one over the other? I'm shopping older, used, Versys and V Strom 650's with a Honda 919 thrown in just to confuse myself even more. And i'm so trying to stay within the budget I set for myself when I started shopping over a month ago. That's getting tougher to stick to the more I shop :grin2:

Enjoy that ride now, I hope to soon. peace, e.
