I see there are several full system options for the 2012-13 650R, but the dealers list them as only compatible with that bike and the ER-6N. Looking at the pictures, the only difference seems to be that the new ones have a crossover tube, while the 06-11 exhaust doesn't.

My 08 Versys has a crossover tube on the stock headers anyway. Has anyone mounted one of these full systems on their Versys?

I had put a set of SS Headers on my Versys. They were listed to fit the 650R. Same thing without the cross over tube. They fit fine.

In 2012 the 650r and ER6 changed their exhaust systems. They can no longer accept slip-ons as their new exhausts from Kawasaki are a one piece system. The oil pan was also redesigned to fit the new exhaust. The reason you are seeing a bunch of full systems out there is because that is the only option now for those two bikes.

From what I've read though, they will not fit our rides as we have the old style oil pans. You even have to be careful with some slip-ons prior to 2012 as the brackets aren't always compatible with our V's.

Thanks for the info. I see the new oil pan is about $80. Ed, would you swap out the pan for the newer exhaust kits, or is there some other reason?

IF I do it, it will be for the better protection - MUCH better protected than ours which project down making them vulnerable to getting hit and knocked off, which will definitely RUIN your day!

Also - I think you can get them on Ebay for le$$.

I personally would NOT change the quiet stock muffler (w/ catalytic converter) for an after-market can, even IF I could get one free....
