Anyone know if a Versys 1000 gear shift lever will fit on a gen 2 (2011) Versys 650? Coming form the sport bike/racing scene, I got very used to my bikes being reverse shifting, and would have flipped the transmission shaft knuckle on my V to convert it as well except that the engine crash bars I have prevent that. I noticed however that the V1000 shift lever has the rod come off the bottom instead of the top like on the V650, which means if the V1000 lever physically fits on my 650 then it will change it to reverse shifting.

I've mostly gotten used to the standard shift pattern again, but sometimes in emergency braking situations my old muscle memory kicks in and I end up going the wrong way. I still would argue that reverse shifting is more ergonomically viable during spirited riding.

If anyone has a V1000 that they're willing to take some measurements for me, let me know!

Thanks for your help you guys.

I'm in Norwalk. If you want to meet up you can get an eyeball on my V-1000 and take your own measurements.
