Does anyone else here do 100% or close to it city riding on their Versys? I'm wondering what kind of range they're getting out of their tanks. I understand it should be well less than all/mostly highway riding, just curious by how much. I just started using Fuelly, but it'll take a few fillups before I have any data...

I don't on my Versys but I did on my scooter. On that I could get 180 miles out of a 3.2 gallon tank on country roads but in the city I would be looking to fill up at 120 miles. Could probably have squeezed 140 out of it if I pushed it. I would expect the Versys to have a similar drop in mpg. But note that I would be averaging around 50mph on country roads. Higher speeds on interstates would drop the mpg some but I couldn't tell you how much.

I get about 18-20 kmpl (42-47 mpg) when doing only city riding so far .. though my route to work has only 1 traffic light on it, and i have a pretty clear run without traffic the rest of the way.

I've been using Fuelly for a while. Great on line tool to keep track of scheduled maint. and mileage as well as fuel costs.

As for city mileage I range between 4.9L/100km (really taking it easy) to 5.2L/100km. You'll have to do the conversion to get MPG. On the highway I do 4.7L/100km or better.

200 miles or aobut 50mpg, all city, stop and go plus some freeway, almost always under 7krpm.

Once I get above 7k for extended time (track) I only get about half that.

All of our gas is 10% ethanol, not sure if that matters to you.

I only buy 87 octane.

So after my first 2 fillings- Fuelly is giving me 28MPG!!?? I'm doing ALL stop and go city riding, but this seems drastically lower than any other of the Versii on the site. I'm hoping this is inaccurate and will increase with more fillups. I mean- it's a 2011 with BARELY 1000 miles on it. Really hoping somethings not wrong. Seems to be running just fine, though. And no- I'm not driving it like a maniac for the mostpart. I'd say 90% of the time she's under 4k rpm...

Yea, that's pretty bad and not normal.

If you were on the track, and operating at 6-10k rpm I would say don't worry about it.

I'm not a pro by any means, so the only thing I would know to change would be the air filter and the plugs.

Have you been the only owner?

Simple, you fill up and set the trip odometer to 0. Write down the mileage when the fuel bar flashes. Your down to. 9 gallons divide the miles by 4.1 and you get the mileage. I get around 40-45 mpg.

I can consider my commute ride as city, 5km of twisties, then a stretch of 14 traffic lights section that goes for about 5km, then pretty free flow for another 3km until a stretch of very high traffic jam for another 4km, and then 7km of almost freeway type, with occasional jam at one section which requires slow speed. Revs are mostly in the region of 4k unless passing slower traffic in the twisties which would hit 5k+. Speed ranges from 60 to 90kph but real slow when in heavy traffic lane splitting.

I get about 23+ km/L or 55 mpg (US). This is with 44T rear sprocket, DNA air filter and I weigh 65kg.
