It's comfy, I sat on it at the NY bike show. I disliked it in pictures but up close it's nice. Have to wait for an ALU-RACK and a wind shield.

Instead of $10,000+ for a 2010 Z1000...I spent $7500 and got a B-King w-2200 miles. Already had Two brothers carbon fiber exhaust and TRE.pictures on my profile.

I rode it back to back to back with the 990 and 1090 Brutale's. I was really surprised by how much I liked it. The power delivery is great for a streetbike (meaning, power everywhere but doesn't rev out as much as I would like if I was going to track it). Very comfortable and good suspension. The 990 Brutale was the easiest of the 3 to ride hard (didn't feel like it would/could bite) and the 1090 Brutale was the most exciting of the three. However, for the difference in price, a Penske rear, Linderman rebuilt forks, exhaust and PCIII and the Z1000 would be a truly incredible bike.

Got a 2008 model,just can't justify $10,000 for 10-15 more HP. Love my 08.
Versys gets the vote here. Seat on the Zed (Ten Benjamins) was too hard for my taste. Like bed of nails hard. My ass really took a pounding. Riding home on the Honda was like riding in a Cadillac.

I rode one for darn near 2 hours last weekend at the Kawasaki Demo Days in my area. This is the fastest thing I've ever sat on. Period. It was scary how fast it was going before I could even look at the speedo. Very, very good wind protection at everything below 80mph. The gearing was so tightly spaced that I was constantly looking for a higher gear, but I guess it’s a sport bike and meant to be that way. Brakes were so powerful I almost threw myself over the bars upon my first hard stop. Moral of the story: if you have $10K to drop on a bike and can control yourself, I don’t see how it could get much better than this.
On a separate note I spent almost the same amount of time on 2010 Versys and absolutely loved it! The vibes though the handlebars were somewhat excessive, but other than that it was a simply awesome machine! I spent time on the 2010 Concours 14 and wasn’t that impressed – for $15K I expected much more.

I have a 09 Versys I ride in NJ. I spend a lot of time in WV and decided I wanted a second bike to ride there. Thought I wanted a Z1000. Nice looking bike. Needs a few things (lowering kit, windscreen) which I felt would be available soon. However, it only has a four gallon tank, and only gets 30 mpg. That means range between fuel ups is less than a hundred miles. My V gets nearly 50 mpg, has a 5 gallon tank; for over a 200 mile range. I ride back-country roads, some freeways. It'd be fun to roll on the throttle on the Z1000, but the Versys has good acceleration and is overall a better match to my needs. So, I'm getting a black 2010 V for WV.

BTW, Ridersville Cycles in Berkeley Springs, WV sold me a 2010 V for $6500 plus tax, license. They also have a new blue 09 V they'll sell for $5900. Very friendly, lots of inventory. Should visit if you're ever in the area.

I'm not keen on the 4 gallon tank either plus it's a wee bit thirsty. A couple of years may see a fix. Premium grade gas I think.

It's getting stellar reviews. Needs luggage mounts. Anyone interested?
I test drove one today, and I didn't care for it at all. I like my Versys better in every respect (except I'd love to have more horsepower).

I want a 1200cc, 170 horsepower Versys!! :)

Even if I could afford this beast the insurance and gas cost would scare me. I like both the new z and b-king but the later is more beastly. Maybe when I'm 40.
