    It was my first time trying to do an oil change, and I was using a cheap torque wrench. I feel pretty wretched about it.I have seen self-tapping drain bolts... has anyone here used one of those? What is there to know about using them? Do I have to replace the whole pan?

    So, I'm riding around here in Mexico, and will be here for a while. I changed my oil just before departing the US, and am wondering how long I can wait to do another oil change with the synthetic oil without risking excessive wear on the engine. Your thoughts and opinions are much appreciated.
