Hey, I really like those. They look great. Alot better than the OEM ones. Give me the details. Where, when, how, and how much. Do they come with the mounting racks? Send me an E-mail with the details. [email protected] I am ready to buy.

They are SHAD SH23 side cases which can be purchased as a kit with the side brackets or separately. I ordered it directly from SHAD.

I can tell from the picture but did you get the dark gray or the black. Also did you order through their Florida center via phone or online. approximately what was the total cost with tax and shipping. Thanks.

Thank you for the info. I talked to them,(Florada site, today) but now I am undecided weather to get the 23 ltr or the 36 ltr. I am afraid the 36ltr interferes /is too close to the exhaust. Any insight you can give on your decision making process (whys, howcomes, whatfors) with a few more pictures would be very very appreciated and helpful.

I like the way the 23s look better than the 36 and I did not want to load down the bike too much because it is only a 300. I also did not want to remove the rear signal lights just to put side cases. I prefer a top loading side case. I do not want my side cases to be too wide due to lane-splitting. Hope this helps...

I think you may want those lights on the inside of the bars. :-)

I am putting the Mondos ($130) on the Versys too.

Mondos (on 24x7 for visibility) and DR1s

I just ordered the same Shad set up as you. I got the dark gray color. If you have time could you send me or post more picture with different angles, of your bike with the bags. On the side stand, both sides. On the centerstand eye level view. Front view. You can send them to me at [email protected] or just post here. I surely would appreciate it. Thanks for all your feedback on this.

Just got my Shad panniers a few min ago. Shipping weight says, Brackets are about 8 lbs and the panniers are about 13 lbs. some where on the Shad website I read that the total weight for brackets and Panniers adds 20 lbs to the bike.
I will post more pictures when I get them installed later this weekend.

Just finished installing my Shad panniers. Took about 20 min. with a coffee break in between. One item of note. Inside one of the panniers are the end caps for the racks. These need to be installed on the end of the racks before the racks are installed on the bike or you will be installing the racks twice. DAMHIK. In the attached picture the cap on the left is removed and the cap on the right is the one installed on the rack. Also here are some pictures of the bags on the bike.

Maybe Santa will deliver?

I still have some work to do this winter. The Versys 300 still needs the Ram phone (Santa is bringing) and Garmin Zumo GPS mounts, power supply for the GPS, and the Givi tank bag locking ring is on order. Then I need the tank protector(s) to protect the paint from the tank bag mainly. I still need to put the Knight Riderz light on I already have. I also have some small LEDs to throw on the crash bars on order. That will just about do it for the limited power on the Versys.

What tank protector do you guys recommend for the graphite color on the 300? I see the Kaw one for $60 and several different ones on EBay for $45 or so. I may just go clear like I did on the V-Strom.

I can heat the insulated garage or I can move the bike to the walk-out basement with the motorcycle lift. The weather looks good for riding this week.

I wish that garage was a full four car.

Lawn equipment/ mowers do not belong in the Garage. It belongs in a shed or a barn.

You mean for a third motorcycle? I had three for quite a while.

Oh - this one belongs in the garage. I thought about another shed that matches the house with power in the back since it put the battery on a tender in the winter. In reality It ends up the bikes go into the basement workshop end since it is 2100 sq feet and partially finished with bathroom, etc.

That mower (Ferris commercial with twin 3400 transmissions and a Kawasaki 27 HP engine) costs more then the Versys and about what I paid for the V2. It is a load of fun too. For me they are all toys. It has FARKLE's too. See the LEDs on the roll-bar?

Any thing that has to do with cutting grass, moving leaves. digging dirt, shoveling / plowing snow, etc is work. Any thing that is used to do that work is just a tool and not a toy.

Oh no. Nothing could be further from work than that zero turn mower. It even has suspension and LED's and weighs 1100 lbs..

I often have as much fun on the zero turn mower as riding motorcycles. It's a blast with trees and obstacles. My wife would never cut on the commercial John Deere tractor we gave my son. Now she asks to mow on this and that is unheard of in our 35 years of marriage. We fight for it.

Now all of that said my 2.5 acre yard is only 1.5 cut-table and takes less than an hour on that thing with the 52" mower. It is a true joy. I often cut when it doesn't need cutting and just waste gas.

Well OK, One more farkle. It only cost me about 8 bucks. Had two keys cut from the Shad pannier lock keys and made pannier knobs for the panniers. Cut the new keys down to the correct height that I wanted and then took two black oil bottle caps and using JB Weld, mounted the keys into the caps. Presto I now have pannier knobs. I can remove the knobs and lock them up in my top box or put them in my pocket when leaving the bike parked somewhere. I have done this farkle on all my bikes that had panniers, over the last 35 years.

The short key mod reminds me of the good old ST1300 days ..... did the same with the Honda keys. I pick up my X 300 tomorrow and have ordered the Shad set up ... will order/modify the Shad spare keys as you have.
