I'm chiming in here to say I've noticed the bars being all the way to one up from maximum as well, but this happened months ago in traffic when it was warmer out and I was out with the bike for over an hour. I never went for the first service so I may have voided my warranty. I changed the oil myself. It's a 2017 300

Climbing up a dirt mountain road, I am at 5 bars. I don't like that too much since this is the type of riding I got the bike for. As long as it's normal, I'm good. If it gets to 6, I may not be so fond of it. Hoping 5 of 6 is the max I ever see.

Anyone else have any follow-ups on this? It's summer now and mine gets kind of uncomfortably hot at one bar from the top, 5/6 bars. Called the dealer and they want to charge me for a diagnosis. I might go there in person to demand they look at it for free as it's not quite a year since I've bought it. It doesn't have 2,000 miles on it yet. I changed the oil at 700 miles but never touched the coolant.

Kindly give me a brief summary someone of what has been linked to this problem.

1) The fan not turning on. (I think this is my issue)

2) bad coolant temperature sensor

3) trying a different coolant and mixing it yourself with distilled water at 70/30.

.....................

Any other aftermarket fans available maybe better than the one that comes with the bike?

Two things, make sure it is aluminum approved and the freeze point, yes the less the coolant the more heat transfer you get, but you don't want to have your coolant freeze, as it will be by by engine. The distilled water is also important.
