Underseat storage

The tray under the seat of a versysX has a weird shape. Is it meant for something specific? It?s U shaped. The tool kit has a space under this tray so it?s not that. Any ideas?. Like: (___

It didn?t say anything in my manual about it but you may be right. It just seems super narrow for a u-lock. My bicycle u-lock is double the width.

Thanks!!

Not an offering on the American site. It?s still super narrow. Thanks for the info, friend!
