Oil filter car equivalents

The oil filter for Versys X is a very popular one used by many bikes including the Ninja 300.

Has anyone found a car oil filter equivalent ? There must be quite a few I'm thinking.

As does Wix.

Yeah, if you want true ram air tuning, you better be willing to ram some air! (SteveinSunnyFlorida)

Be aware longer versions of filters that fit the Ninja 300 wont fit the X300 due to location of exhaust headers- many of these longer filters are the automotive versions

The Bosch 3300 is same size as stock x300 oil filter, has hi-flow media to handle synthetic ( WIX makes a synthetic version of their 51358) for $7.99 at O'rielly's - the WIX is $12

Why would any one want to put a car filter on a motorcycle when there are so many good M/C filters available -and lets not forget the OEM one

I guess that if we don't change the oil all that often, then the fourteen dollars that my dealer charges for a filter - is perfectly fine. I mean, it's not like we're changing our oil eleven times a year. So, whats an extra five bucks or whatever.

I get it.

Yes there are a lot of automotive filter equivalents.

I like the NAPA/WIX 1365 as a good alternative if I run out and need one in a hurry. 8-11 PSI bypass valve

Wix 51365 & Napa 1365 Oil Filter: FleetFilter - NapaGold by Wix, Fram, Baldwin, and Luberfiner

This general size fits all of my power equipment and all of our motorcycles except Yamaha (filter bottoms out on filter boss before sealing)

But, normally get the HiFlo filters online for about $5.50/ea for 10. Get together with some of your frugal friends and get the 10-pack. I think your 300 takes the HF204. Maybe. Check the length.

No matter where you go - there you are.

I get Napa Gold filters twice a year during their half price sale. These are made specifically for the bike Why try to retro-fit a car filter when bike filters are not hard to find or really any more expensive (if you avoid the stealership as with any vehicle).

Oil Filter List for the Ninja 300, 400, 500, 650, ZX-6R, ZZR600, ZX-10, ZX-14 & more
This is a list of oil filters that will replace the Kawasaki OEM Oil Filter for the Ninja 300. The Ninja 300 has a spin on type canister oil filter. It shares the same oil filter common on many other Kawasaki motorcycles. Always check the cross reference list along with product specifications available at the store or online if you have any questions about a filter. This may not be an exhaustive list, so feel free to update or add to it as necessary.

Kawasaki OEM: 16097-0004
OEM oil filter dimensions: 20 x 1.5mm threads, 14 psi by-pass valve, anti-drain back valve, 2.3" O.D. gasket, 2.5" height, 2.7" OD.
*note* (p/n# 16097-0004 supersedes 16097-0002, 16097-1061, 16097-1064, 16097-1068 as well as a few others, so filters that cross reference to these numbers may fit as well. Dimensions between filters may vary slightly.)

AC Delco: PF2135
AMSOIL: EAOM103
Carquest: 85358
FRAM: PH6017A
Honda: 15410-MCJ-000

NAPA Gold: 1358
WIX: 51358
SuperTech: ST7317
Mobil 1: M1-110
Bosch: 3300

The following list of Automobile Filters should also fit the Ninja 300. They are about 3.25 inches long (compared to 2.5" stock filters):
