This is what I bought for my new 1000 SE LT+
Price was a little steep at $500 but it included mount, trunk and installation.

Howdy from way up north in San Antonio! The rack you provided the link for actually looks well made and sturdy, not to mention reasonably priced. I'm not a rack fan but if I was I'd probably give that one a try. Then again, doesn't GIVI make racks for the Versys? I believe they do but they will be costly. Good luck with whatever you choose.

It has nothing to do with your rack question but last spring my wife and I spent a week or so touring the Big Bend country - Marathon, Alpine, Marfa, Ft. Davis, Terlingua, Lajitas. Presidio, and everything in between - great weather and a great ride.

At $85 it looks to me like a bargain! (I've always made up an aluminum rack to attach to my [something similar] rack, to attach the tent, sleeping bag, etc, for my long trips.)

Just out of curiosity, why would you add another rack onto the x300, with the one already included on the bike?
Until now it has served me very well, including the attachment of a peli-case-like box via screws.
