Problem Viewing Site

How do I get off the mobile version of this site and get to the regular black and yellow version on my iPad?
And how do I resize it so it fills the entire screen on my iPad.

I had that issue for awhile. I'm not sure how to fix it in safari, but I now use opera and it works really well as the desktop version.

The site queries the browser as to the browser type and screen resolution and sends back the version of the site that it thinks will fit best on the screen. I expect it is confusing your site for an iPhone with a smaller screen from the information sent to it from Safari on your iPad. I would download and try another browser like Chrome or FireFox to see if it fixes the problem. You may also change settings in Safari to change the info it sends out about itself to sites.

Chrome allows you to "request desktop site" even on my phone.. does Safari have a similar option perhaps?

Maybe try something here?

OK, I'll try that. But the problem I have now with this new format, I can't even find the option to get back to the old version. Even if undersized, it was better than what I'm seeing now.

I would be happy at this point to go back to the old setting. Even if it is undersized, I can always swipe it to enlarge it.
As it stands, what I see now is like reading an old style computer printout. Horrible.

Also, I can't go into User CP to undo the change I made. This sucks.

Hello,

Can you access your user CP via desktop? also, what changes did you make to have the odd browser format appear?

Good idea, I'll try from my laptop when I get a chance.
I was in user CP when I was trying to resize the site to go full screen. I saw a button that said something like "use mobile format". I pressed it figuring that if it didn't work I would be able to switch back but apparently I can't. Later on I'll see what my laptop does. Thanks.

I think I know what's wrong. You're stuck in the grey mobile view as I was stuck too. You'll need to clear your browser cache/cookies.

I cleared my cookies back to before I made the change and still no luck. This is awful.

click here to goto User CP - Edit Options:
http://www.kawasakiversys.com/forums...do=editoptions

scroll down to bottom of page and under "Miscellaneous Options" you can select another view under 'Forum Skin"

If you are in MOBIL mode the at bottom select "Quick Style chooser"

KawiVersys is default style

Fixed!

Tested under firefox using a Private window so I did not stuff up my browser cookies.
Yes Mobile site sucks on a desktop!

Thank you Gigitt. That did the trick, no more making changes for me.
Off topic...I just saw the latest Mad Max. A friend of mine worked on the set and made things for the interior of the vehicles and he made the flame thrower guitar.
He's a salvage artist.

I'll report the Mobile Grey style to the tech team and they will look into either adding an escape button of sorts or disable it. This way nobody will get stuck again.

Your friend is awesome! Did he get to test drive the vehicles? ....For science!

No, no test riding. He was in Australia about three years ago making weapons, a couple of the steering wheels and other vehicle treatments and the guitar. His name is Mike Ulman and is listed twice in the credits.
The producers wanted parts sourced locally for authenticity. They had not begun shooting the movie until much later.

Well, this is my feelings about Mad Max. The original is a cult classic I know but I'm surprised they made more. The latest is remarkable in that they used very little CGI. What you are viewing are real stunts. The only CGI used is to remove safety cables and there is a giant sandstorm which had to be made from CGI.
Without giving away any of the movie I think I can say this, it uses the same stuff as the other three movies, a bunch of bad guys are chasing a truck across the desert.
This is no cheap production however. I recommend it. Maybe sneak a pint of your favorite beverage into the theater and have a good time. You won't be bored.

Update: The grey layout now has a "normal version" button installed. It's a bit hard to spot but it's there.

Good news, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
As for the "normal version" button, that's good news as well but I ain't going anywhere near it.

I can understand why you're staying away from it but thanks to you, no one else will get stuck ever again.
