Doing your own maintenance

I am in the market for a V and am wondering about doing regular maintenance. I do all my own maintenance on my Goldwing and was wondering how easy/difficult it is on a Versys?

For example, do you have to take the whole damn bike apart to get to the air filter like on a Wing?

Basic maintenance is a breeze. Most everything is easy to get to except the plugs and air filter. Everything is easy to get to without removing anything when doing an oil change. You have to plug the as tank out to get to the air filter and remove the airbox to get to the spark plugs. None of it is difficult, but you have to take the cowlings off to get the gas tank off, buut they only have six screws each. There are also some side panelss that have one screw each that need to come off. Pulling wheels is a breeze. I can get mine off in about 15 minutes. Basically really easy to work on.
