Adding a Cruiser to the Stable

I am considering adding a cruiser to my collection... I am very interested in a suzuki m50/c50 (2005 or newer). Any other bikes i should consider in the price range of 4-5k? I really like the look of the m50 and FI is a must.

Thanks

I have seen Kawasaki Vulcans O9 as cheap as 5,900 on ebay. A similar cruiser, I believe.

I'm really taken by the looks of the new Honda Shadow RS. Not a cruiser really but more Sportster-esque.

Make sure you get fuel injection. I had a V-star 650 Custom ( same 'size' as the M50 ) and my only gripe was lack of injection. It really sucked in the cold which isn't good here in VT.

I just sold my 06 C50 to buy a Versys. Put 11,000 miles on it and it ran perfectly. Check out the VR forum as they sometimes have bikes listed for sale there. http://www.volusiariders.com/

I would recommend the M50/C50 any day if that is your style/fit. I second the recommendation of getting a fuel injected bike. I will never buy another carb'd bike.

I have a 97 shadow VT1100C. Very comfortable for relaxed rides with the wife on back. Looks just like the new ones and is mechanically solid as a rock. Mine is carb'd. While it works just fine....I'd go for something with FI if I were to get one now. can't argue with the $3k I paid for it though.... I don't think I'm gonna ride it much since I got the V.

Have both 08 Versys and C50t and enjoy both bikes but very different bikes, the C50 is my wifes but since i ride a heck of a lot more than her us the crusier when i in a funny mood but prefer the V.

eparker202 you were considering selling the V a while ago due to a new arrival now your looking a another bike, things must be going well.

Cruisers

Don't forget about the Kawi 900 Vulcans. I've got a lot of friends who have/had one and they've only ever had good things to say. You'll get a little extra displacement over the Suzuki M50.
