cool old drag bike

Saw this article, and I am not very knowledgeable about motorcycling history, but I found this to be a cool bike and video. Now if I can just convince my wife that the V belongs in the living room like this guy has done.....

Thanks for the link!

IF you can stand looking at these admittedly POOR pics of my '60s Triumph drag-bike "WILD THING" - you'll be able to see where MY inspiration came from. (Unfortunately I NEVER took a color pic, and lost the negs when the article was written.)

Very cool. Definitely see the resemblance.
I just found this triumph/ Norton/ (other cool bikes) shop where the guy has some old bikes and its right near my new house. I haven't had a chance to stop in while they were open, but I have driven by and he had some awesome old bikes out front. This makes me want to stop in even more. Honestly I wish I had a garage to tinker on a bike. I may have to build a big ol shed and start a project.

Impressive looking machine, and on the cover of a national magazine to boot. I remember 1967 very well. Graduated from college and joined the USAF planning on five years including pilot training. Retired 24 years later but won't complain because the USAF helped me buy a bunch of motorcycles over the years.

Thanks Arion. I "took the oath" on 01 Sept 1967, starting a seven year RCAF flying career. Even got to 'Nam three times....

I volunteered for Viet Nam and had my assignment cancelled. Was sent to Grand Forks AFB (Strategic Air Command) North Dakota! I would rather have gone to Viet Nam - SAC had no sense of humor and we didn't get along well at all.
