yamaha fz-07 650

here's a good article on the Yamaha that I think is a better comparison to our 650 Versys than the heavier..bad front end..terrible fueling Fz-09..

http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/re...-07-first-ride

all of the problems with the Fz-09 were fixed for the Fz-07...it's adventure style (Versys) vrs. street style (Fz-07)..who wins??

the only hit on the Yamaha would be lack of non-oem add ons..as it's new in the market (some stuff overseas where's been available for over a year)...

The suspension on the 07 is actually less sophisticated than the 09 in terms of adjustability. The problem with the fz-09 is that the suspension is not appropriate for its power to weight. The bike has the same power to weight as a supersport 600, but also makes about 20 more tq. For 2015 yamaha made new fuel maps for the fz-09's and did a recall on the 2014's to re flash the bike to smooth out the fuing issues. While it is true the fz-07 is not criticized as much as the 09 for its suspension, is has more to do with it having less power, and being a more well balanced bike, and less about yamaha fixing the suspension. Although I would agree the fz-07 is more of a competitor to the Versys than the fz-09. That 850 triple is a work of art, I'd love to have it in a supersport package. Btw I had a 2014 fz-09.

None the less...Any..every article ever written on the FZ-09 (not written by the manufacturer) has complained about it's front end...Every article I've read about the FZ-07 has said..though not as adjustable..it's front end (straight out of the box) is better than the FZ-09's...The newer 09's have addressed this as well with the newer models...They have also worked on the ECU fueling and the newer models are better than the older models (once again..the FZ-07 fueling is still better than the newer 09's)...The FJ-09 is a nice bike..much better than the older FZ-09's...At twice the power of our Versys..higher price tags..the Yammies are good bikes..but bad comparisons..which was the gist of my thread...
Canadians aren't weird..we have that covered here in Portland Oregon...you guys be STRANGE...sometimes refered to as "Snow Baked"...

I was down at the local dealer today and there she was a brand new FZ-07...I jumped on her..OMG...I knew I would love this bike...the seat height is perfect for my 5'9"..the balance is light..handlebars position pretty much the same as our Versys...Had I had my gear I might have asked for a test ride...My plan is to wait a year or so..then......
