O'Rly? The "yesterday's tech" will race in AMA SBK and WSBK, the "tomorrow's technolowy" will race... Nowhere.

The H2 is a halo bike. The new R1 is the answer to the ZX-10R, BMW S1000RR and Aprilia RSV4.

Superchargers? Neat concept, makes more power than literbikes... So? Rossi himself said the new R1 was unrideable without the electronics. As it is literbikes are making more power that can be used 99.9% of the time. The supercharger is pretty much useless in the real world. Then there is the little fact that the street going H2 makes "only" 200hp, just like the other literbikes without a supercharger, and it weights 30kg more.

If this bike was meant to take on literbikes, why is Kawasaki keeping the ZX-10R for?

Pretty sure that you didn't notice that at EICMA the first bike with VVT was launched. The supercharged bike did what it was meant to do, get attention.

Should have been more specific, the Multistrada is the first bike to have VVT on both intake and exhaust, Concours only has it on the intake:

Kawasaki could have installed VVT on the exhaust side years ago if it had been needed.......and theirs wasn't "borrowed" from Volkswagen like Ducati's was.

Do we really need all this technology for something as simple as enjoying a nice motorcycle ride?

Apples and oranges..

Kaw H2 Curb Weight: 524.7 pounds. That's +100# over the Yamaha.

I agree with Susser.. H2 is a halo bike and drag racing platform. the R1M is a real deal racer.

I stand by what I said.

The following is a definition of halo. It's also a video game. I don't see what either definition has to do with a motorcycle. I haven't seen a white ring of light above any pictures of the H2

halo
noun
1.
a circle of light shown around or above the head of a saint or holy person to represent their holiness.
synonyms: ring of light, nimbus, aureole, aureola, glory, crown of light, corona, disc, radiance, aura; More
the glory associated with an esteemed person.
"he has lost his halo for many ordinary Russians"
2.
a circle of white or coloured light around the sun, moon, or other luminous body caused by refraction through ice crystals in the atmosphere.
synonyms: ring of light, nimbus, aureole, aureola, glory, crown of light, corona, disc, radiance, aura
