Ya gotta be smarter than the tire

We own a 2010 Gold Wing. Our second Wing.

It's the Wife's bike - I'm simply the pilot.

They're great for looooong distance touring. The Missus routinely makes 600+ mile days as a passenger, with her best at 829 miles in one day.

Anyways, they DO sometimes need tires. Now, Wings are notorious for the stiffest damned sidewalls and most stubborn tire changes.

AND, they can be a PITA, especially if ya have a trailer hitch installed.

The solution is to lay'em over on the right side, kick the center stand forward and then remove the five lug nuts and slide the wheel out the bottom.

BEFORE you do all this - lay the tire out in the driveway in the bright sunshine and heat it up. The hotter, the better.

OK, so change the tire, put it all back together, and stand it up.

Now check everything twice.

CRAP ! The rotation arrow is going the WRONG WAY ! I hate it when that happens.

Anyone else ever do that?

I think I'd just buy a new Goldwing if I ever had to lay it down and pick it back up.
