Question

I have a 2001 Transalp, but really like the Versys....can anyone suggest pros and cons between the two bikes?

Am looking to change my TA soon, like either DL 650 V strom or the Versys!!

Hmmm which one is better??

I really like the 2006 Honda 599 (Hornet). I am considering getting one, but have heard that it is really a beginers bike. It only makes power above 10,000 RPM, and the seating position is cramped. I've done quite a bit of research on it, and it appears to be the next iteration of the 1991-2002 Honda Nighthawk 750 with a little more sport thrown in. The aftermarket is quite limited as the Hornet was only available in the US for 2 years. Very nice bike though - it's made in Italy and the Honda Italy factory is just down the road from the Ducati factory I'm told. The 599 even uses a few parts that are actually made by Ducati! How cool is that?

Yeah, that’s a statistic sample size of 1, category “anecdotal evidence”, but there it is.

The 919 doesn't have an inverted front fork or the digital gauges like the 599. The 919 is very similar to theh 2004 599, but the 2006 599 has some signifigant upgrades.

My local Honda shop has a new 599 and a few new 919s (leftovers, never titled). Nice bikes. I prefer the 919s for the fuel injection and bigger motor. The way they have them priced, the 919 is just a couple hundred bucks more.

I stopped in there today after work to look around. They still have at least one 919. I really like that bike, considered buying it before I got my Versys. There's something old-school about the 599 and 919 that I find appealing.
