2014 Honda CBR650 (US)

Does anyone have any more info on the 2014 Honda CBR650F that's comming this summer?

Here's what I've found http://www.cycleworld.com/2014/02/04...-photos-specs/

The specs look pretty good.

This could be competition for the Yamaha triple sport tourer, if they ever come out with it.

I would say its closer to the 650r than the versys (not that they are too different), but I wouldn't take that CBR off road. I owned a 650r as my first bike, and it was a great bike. Honestly I love the sound and low end power of the twins, and that's part of why I chose the V as my third bike.

Cycle World claims 59.3 mpg Imp (49.4 mpg US).

"To ensure good fuel economy at constant throttle, short valve overlap timing works in harmony with a specific ignition map. Range can exceed 350km (217.5 miles) per tank (17.3 litres / 3.8 US gal)."

$9.499 in Canada. Available in Metallic Silver or Candy Blue.

I'm eyeing this one really closely. If it can beat the mileage AND the comfort/riding position (for me) of the Versys, I may have to jump ship.

Edit: Invader, are you certain the Cycle World article used converted figures for mpg? 59.3 UK mi/gal would be 49.4 American, which seems much more likely to me. 60 mpgUS is what the CB500 family gets.

Being a Honda it should be just as reliable as the Versys.

I believe i saw 4 pipes coming out of that engine...I haven't seen a price..other than that..I like it...I have always had a soft spot in my heart for Honda 650 4's...Don't think I'll be jumping ship any time soon though...Looks more in the ER-n6 mode than a ninja 650r...
