Consumer Reports
Is ...... the worst motorcycle money can buy? Let's get this out of the way right now. No.
It's actually the second worst.

According to the 4,424 motorcycle owners surveyed by Consumer Reports.

Haha, even Motley Fool is into Harley bashing? On ANOTHER note BMW IS the worst motorcycle money can buy (according to Consumer Reports).

Victory and Indian brands had apparently not made enough of a dent in the market to attract CR's attention by the time of the survey
Interesting they mention Victory and Indian, I guess they've never heard of Suzuki? Triumph? Ducati?

So, the survey is of Consumer Reports readers who responded to the request for info, not really a random sample. To Versys owners the revelation that Japanese motorcycles are more reliable is not exactly earth-shattering. We accept it as a somewhat obvious truth. On a Beemer forum they would likely point out that the survey does not take into account the miles ridden annually, the relative complexity of the machinery, and the fact that folks who paid 20k for a motorcycle are more likely to complain about small things. It is interesting that Brand Loyalty is not affected by the poor reliability ratings. You can bet that is the take-away for HD and BMW.

Bwaaahahahah. BMW the worst, and no doubt the excuses will pour from the believers. I have a few friends with BMW's and they don't ride any more miles than I do, but they certainly have had more problems that I've had with my last three Kawasaki bikes. Serious problems too, like transmission and drive train.

Harleys are more reliable than they once were, but still can't touch Japanese reliability.

A fool and his money are soon parted...
