Remember this test ride ?

I did a demo ride report a while back on the new KTM adventure.
http://www.kawasakiversys.com/forums...ad.php?t=28970

Well, today I've put my money where my mouth was and traded the Versys in against a new KTM. I believe I got a great deal after a little bit of haggling and now have the agonizing wait of 2 to 4 weeks before delivery. I've specced it up a bit and along with the electronic suspension package, I've ordered the comfort pack (more comfortable heated seats/heated grips and taller screen), the GPS holder and the paint protection kit for the tank. Pity the summer is running out so fast, but hopefully I'll get a few good long runs under the wheels and at least a trip to Scotland/England.

WooHoo !!

Good luck exploring the infinite abyss

One of the few bikes I'd trade both my Versys AND KLR for. BUT even then I'd be broke!

Really a nice ride and it sounds like you're getting it setup right. Have fun.

Or was that look THEN leap?

I must have missed the part where you offered test rides to whomever makes it across the pond to visit you! Lol. Great looking machine. Good luck with her...

Arrgh! A KTM - bloody wonderful, Davy. Hope you enjoy it tremendously.

Would that I could add a KTM to the fleet; but to afford one I'd have to help some rich relative into an early grave. If I had any rich relatives that is.

You have to ask ?

The KTM dealer is als a Kawasaki (& Triumph) dealer and is in fact, Phillip McCallen. Yes, the same Phillip McCallen who is an 11 times TT winner.

Great Bike. I was drooling over it months back. Only thing i don't care for is the front fender. i'm not a fan of a beak on a bike but i think it would help this bike look even better.

Congrats. I know nothing about KTM's reliability and maintenance schedule, but that is a nice looking bike.

So far,the new 1190 Adv isn't getting the new owner grumblings anywhere the same as the new R1200GS WC is for instance. One guy has been in touch with me to say he's done 5500 miles so far without a hitch. As the engine is a development of KTM's RC8 superbike, it's a known unit and has been improved to extend service intervals to 9k miles between services. Maybe this little video will explain it better.

I don't know if I would want to pay for a full engine service every six months.
