Bikes that you want???

In the spirit of the holiday, post up what you're eyeballing.

If I weren't saving up for the Vs. I'd already have a MadAss. (Probably illegal to register in CA, more's the pity.)

And if I had four or five additional thousand dollars over what I'm saving for the Vs, I'd be getting an F800GS instead, with road tires like this:

I'm calm like a bomb!

I saw a Varadero parked outside the local Honda dealer this summer. I drove by and said, "What the %$#! is THAT!!?? I would never buy a Honda, though, because my ex wife rides one.

Versys that's set up to tour, commute, and carve (which isn't a difficult thing to do, methinks), streetable SuMo (preferably with the Suzuki 650 mill), SuMo track bike, track bike (probably a Gixxer 750 or a midsize twin), streetable enduro, semi-faired standard based on the new R1 mill.

Yep, I'd ride that Spyder. My wife saw one on her way home from work a few days ago. She was having a hard time describing it. Then I pulled it up on the net. She was all excited until she saw the price tag. Maybe a few years down the road...

I also like the Scrambler, but I think it would look like a toy under my big ass. The new Tiger, however, would fit nicely! I also like the Triumph Rocket III...

I still want a 2000.5 Aprilia RSV Mille R as it's the bike I've lusted after for years. I owned an '01 but still couldn't get over the look of the original. That or a 2003 Tuono Racing.

The only other one I know I would buy without question is the Moto Guzzi Bellagio, if they ever bring it to the U.S. that is. I can't get over how sexy this bike is and my Guzzi buddies will only let me get away with buying one or two more non-Guzzi's.

Here's a pic:

I'm ready to sell the Magna and the VTR.... All I want in addtion to the versys is a TW200! Actually I'd love a KLX250 with the tires and wheels from the TW but that's asking too much.

2007 Versys, 2003 Magna, 2000 VTR1000

Buell Ulysses is a bike I just like the look of. Not to mention its a high seat (Helps with a 37" inseam.)

Then I would also love a 6 wheel ATV than can go through water with no issues.

There's a few things I like about the DN-01, even though the biker-azzi snub their noses at it because it's an automatic, and because it's different they think it's ugly. I kinda like the looks, but I always like different.

I was able to see and sit on one at the Long Beach Cycle World show last month. It was amazingly comfortable, and the low seat height was very nice. It seems to have a very long wheelbase for such a small engine size. I don't know how it would be to drive, or if the low slung windscreen and fairing would be any good for weather and wind protection. Since I've been riding the scooter I've been spoiled by (and come to enjoy) the automatic transmission, and laid-back seating posture. However, the DN-01 is less than 700 cc, and the price tag is close to $15,000! Considering that the Suzuki Burgman 650 is 650 cc's and the "Executive" model has an MSRP of $9300, that's pushing the price point a bit, imo. Plus the Suzi has loads of internal storage built in.

If Honda wants to sell this machine here, they need to bump up the horsepower, and add some touring farkles. Right now on their web site there are NO accessories listed for this bike. I think I would really dig this bike at about 1000 or 1200 ccs for long distance power. Add hard bags (maybe even integrated like the much maligned Pacific Coast 800), and an adjustable height windscreen. A twist and go touring bike, with all the comfort of a Gold Wing without the bulk, if it were a reliable Honda engine ... with a seat height of 30 inches ... I'd seriously think about shelling out $17,000 or more for that.

But I don't suspect it will sell well at the price it's at now.
